Stacey's Sweet Treats
Uniform Off and Apron On
Don't let the steel toe shoes fool you. She takes her uniform off, puts her apron on and whips up a dozen. Baking is her thing and she's stirring up success in the kitchen with Stacey's Sweet Treats.
Success is creating a pleasing product that sell's itself and doing it on your terms. Stacey has the perfect recipe. She's doing something she enjoys, she's good at it and yes, the money will follow. Stacey is testing the waters first before committing to even a part-time venture. She bakes on demand with orders placed well in advance.
I met with Stacey on her way to deliver an order for a wedding reception this weekend. She brought me a sample of some of her popular cookies. Yes… they made it back to Studio 482 to be staged for a photo shoot. Confession... the Lily Cookie got the best of me by the end of the shoot. Temptation, so I pulled 2 Lily Cookies from the basket and inhaled them. I'm willing to worry about the consequences later and it was worth it. The Lily Cookie is a buttery soft, lightly sweet, melt in your mouth cookie, worthy to be called PERFECT.
Passion to Dollars
If you have passion and skill in the kitchen, you can make a few extra bucks. I’ve seen it time after time. You bring in a baked good for a potluck and the next thing you know, you’re taking orders. You may not have the time, resources or desire to bake for a living, but it sure is a good side hustle.

In the Kitchen
By now my followers know 3 things:
1- I do not spend hours in the kitchen
2- I'm frugul
3- I do a lot with instant pudding and jell-o
I'm a bachelorette with an interest in Recipe Development and I love to entertain. Presentation is everything. I deplore food waste because its money down the drain and I believe good food is healthy food. Gelatin and Instant Pudding mixes are so inexpensive with such a variety of flavors and so many ways to use them both. Both have sugar free options which I think have more intense flavor. The sweet is in the flavor, so you really won't miss the sugar. There are recipes on the Jello-O and Instant Pudding boxes and you can improvise with fruits, yogurt, whipped toppings, juices, nuts and pie crust, etc. Let your imagination fly.
The combinations are endless.
Ella Fitzgerald - Summer Time, from Porgy and Bess. Ella's music is trendless and timeless. I don't even try to sing along. I just enjoy the moment. This is music from my roots and perfect for a warm spring evening. Dessert it served. Please do not disturb.
Serve chilled in cocktail glasses or dessert cups. Be sure to check back at the end of the month for my blog post with a local Executive Chef.
Enjoy your Mother's Day.
